I was thinking about the juxtaposition of the 3 אֵרַשְׂתִּיךְ phrases to parsha Bamidbar, which primarily includes the counting and the form of the encampments.
- וְאֵרַשְׂתִּיךְ לִי לְעוֹלָם
- This is the first camp, the mishkan, which is the dwelling place of 'forever' = Hashem "לְעוֹלָם"
- Olam is also עול מלכות
- וְאֵרַשְׂתִּיךְ לִי בְּצֶדֶק וּבְמִשְׁפָּט וּבְחֶסֶד וּבְרַחַמִים
- This is the 4 sided encircling of the mishkan by the 3 leviim families, plus moshe and aharon and aharon's family.
- Tzedek = Leviim, 3 letters, also it is spelled tzad kuf - a kuf has 3 sides as per the 3 leviim families.
- Mishpat = Moshe the Shophet
- Chesed = Aharon, kindness
- Rachamim = Aharon's family, merciful/compassionate kohanim, rechem for womb (i.e. family)
- וְאֵרַשְׂתִּיךְ לִי בֶּאֶמוּנָה
- Emunah is the third outer encampment of Bnei Yisrael.
- Emunah are Bnei Yisrael, because the buttresses of emunah on the 4 sides hold up the 2 inner camps of Hashem & Leviim/Moshe/Kohanim.
- It is Emunah, because moneh is the 'count' of the tribes of Bnei Yisrael from parsha Bamidbar.
- On a tefillin, the third finger tie crosses from outside over the second tie to the first finger tie, indicating that Bnei Yisrael can enter the mishkan with the help of Moshe and Aharon and his family. This is
When you have these 3 encampments, only then can you know Hashem, and thus of course this phrase is used when putting on tefillin to indicate our betrothal to Hashem, like a ring on a finger.
